DETEBAT Project

Car battery design
SINFINY involved in the future of the Electric Vehicle

The project, called “Pilot Demonstrator of a Battery Pack for an-Electric Vehicle DETEBAT-VE,” after being awarded financial support by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI), aims to develop a pilot project for an automotive battery. SINFINY has become involved to support the development and industrial growth in the field of the vehicle of the future.

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Operational Program of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the Valencian Community 2014-2020.

Together with SINFINY, the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the companies Nutai, Industrias Alegre, Radiadores Ordóñez, and Renhus have joined this project to combine knowledge and complementarity for the project’s success.

Among other objectives, the consortium’s work seeks to “increase energy density through the intelligent and digital industrialization of cells; improving the optimization and performance of the systems through advanced thermal control and intelligent refrigeration; as well as reducing production costs and package weight.”

In this case, the regional strategy to involve the Valencian Community in the industrialization of key components for electric and autonomous vehicles leads to a commitment to a battery pack that will allow participating companies to diversify their products and services, allowing them to address a constantly growing market segment such as electrified vehicles.

Furthermore, DETEBAT-VE will prepare the sector for the potential installation of a battery gigafactory in the Valencian Community, promoted by the Valencian Battery Alliance.

DETEBAT-VE has received support from the Valencian Innovation Agency,  within the framework of the 2021 call for proposals of the “Strategic Projects in Cooperation” program. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Program for the Valencian Community 2014-2020, under file number INNEST/2021/124.
