The SINFINY team faces a new challenge through its participation in a new R&D&I project: COMPAUTO – Research, design of the production process and development of components for the automotive sector.

The shift toward digitalization and automation in various industrial sectors is influencing not only the way we produce, but also the development and evolution of products. In the case of the automotive sector, this has been influenced by new technologies and business models, as well as the need to reduce the environmental impact, which involves the manufacture of vehicles powered by clean, low-pollution energy.

SINFINY has joined the COMPAUTO project with the aim of designing processes and machinery for automation in high-demand manufacturing, and for intelligent management through the application of robotic systems and other Industry 4.0 enabling technologies.

The project aims to design a flexible production plant concept for lithium-ion cells for automotive applications based on materials research and development, technological integration, and sustainability. All of this will contribute to the development of next-generation batteries, which will have a fundamental impact on the energy transition, contributing to the significant reduction and subsequent elimination of carbon emissions, as it is carried out from the perspective of ecodesign and sustainability.

COMPAUTO has received a grant from the Valencian Innovation Agency, under the 2021 call for proposals for the “Strategic Projects in Cooperation” program. The project is co-financed by the European Union through the Operational Program of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the Valencian Community 2014-2020 and is under file number INNEST/2021/303.
